When you first get a puppy all that naughty behaviour seems so cute. Dogs are designed by nature to take advantage of any opportunity to gain more food and status and it’s up to you to keep them in bounds. With the sit, stay and come command you’ll be able to control your dog in most circumstances. There’s a thin line between ’puppy naughtiness’ and potentially dangerous behaviour when a grown dog. Letting your puppy do as it likes is not love it’s laziness on your part and both of you will end up unhappy. Not everyone wants a dog that can jump through hoops, just coming and sitting on command is enough for most people. Keep the atmosphere calm when training so as not to over excite your dog.
