One of the biggest mistakes we see people make in their dog potty training efforts is simply letting the dog outside for a period of time, without supervision, then letting him back in when they figure he is done. This really doesn’t teach the dog anything. You need to be there with him to praise and reward him for a job well done. And you need to return him to the same area every time so he’ll learn that this is the place where he need to do his business.
